To West Virginia Key Club Members, Officers, and Advisers:
First off, I would like to thank all of you who attended the 70th annual District Convention and 1st annual Kiwanis Family Celebration in April. It was an honor to celebrate a successful year of service for all of the Kiwanis Family. On behalf of the 2016-2017 District Board of Trustees, I would like to welcome you into a new year of service, friendship, and growth.
In April, the West Virginia Key Club District Board of Trustees held its annual Board Training meeting. At this event, I was truly impressed with the level of excitement and dedication I witnessed from each of the newly elected district officers. There is no doubt in my mind that throughout the year, they will continue to grow in their service to their homes, schools, and communities. I feel privileged to be able to serve alongside these fantastic individuals that will lead our district to new heights. I know they will impress you as much as they have impressed me.
I have many ideas to improve our district that I’m excited to bring to the table. If you had the chance to attend our last District Convention, then you probably heard my three main goals I plan to achieve this year: Growth, communication, and motivation. I want to continue to help our district grow with membership drives in clubs. I also want to watch Fall Rally and District Convention attendance grow. Numbers in the past few years have fallen and I plan on restoring those numbers with more convention promotion. I want to improve the district’s communication as well. With club officers communicating to Lieutenant Governors, and LTG’s communicating to me, the line of communication in our district is sure to improve. Lastly, I want to motivate members to be more excited about Key Club. I want to inspire members to remember why they joined in the first place which I feel will improve our district in the long run.
I encourage each of you to invest time and passion into this wonderful club that brings us together as a family. I hope to give each of you a reason to celebrate service at District Convention during my term. I hope to see all of you at Fall Rally or District Convention.
