The Club Level
Key Club is the world’s largest student led community service organization, but it all starts at the club level. Under supervision of a Key Club Faculty Advisor, clubs elect officers typically in February, which typically consist of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Bulletin Editor, and any other positions or committee chairs that are deemed appropriate. Here’s a quick overview of the most common offices:
President
The President plans, organizes, and carries out responsibilities that deal with his or her role as head executive officer. Use delegation and support to ensure the success of your club.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Vice President
The Vice President is very important. You are the support system, and your main role is service to the president, the other officers, and general club members. You are the wingman of the President.Duties and Responsibilities:
Secretary
The Secretary is one of the club's most important officers. Your job is to handle the club files, records, and details that are essential for the club to run smoothly. You need to be prompt, neat, and efficient.

Treasurer
The Treasurer is in charge of the club's distribution and collection of money, as well as the promotion and collection of Dues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Bulletin Editor
The club editor is responsible for all printed material of the club. You are the advertiser and communicator of the club. You also make sure that the press is informed of any service that your club performs.

Officers play a vital role in the success of a club, however, members remain the most important aspect. Actively promoting membership will help open many opportunities.
President

- Appointing and delegating carefully, and ensuring that the task is performed.
- Attending as many committee meetings as possible.
- Evaluate the club and ensure continuous improvement of the club.
- Set clear and attainable goals to get results.
- Motivate your club by being enthusiastic, open, and concerned.
- Preside over the club by making sure that each meeting is well organized, flows smoothly, and ends on time.
- Always be ready to solve any problems that may emerge.
- Recruit and maintain members throughout the year.
- Train and prepare your officers for the year.
- Always be encouraging as a President, and be organized and planned.
- Delegation is key in having a well-run club.
Vice President

- Preside over weekly meetings in the absence of the President.
- Gather material and help edit the club newsletter.
- Attend all club meetings.
- Assist the president in every way.
- Watch over the committee system and assist committee chairs.
Secretary
The Secretary is one of the club's most important officers. Your job is to handle the club files, records, and details that are essential for the club to run smoothly. You need to be prompt, neat, and efficient.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep good, up to date, orderly files that consist of:
- Club Bylaws.
- Minutes of all club and board meetings.
- Committee Reports.
- List of committee chairs and members.
- Club's past achievement and monthly reports.
- Club roster containing information about each member of the club (Full Name, Address, Phone Number, Email, Date of Birth, Date Joining Key Club).
- Names and Addresses of current Key Club officers.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is in charge of the club's distribution and collection of money, as well as the promotion and collection of Dues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect membership dues.
- Prepare the budget and see that all activities adhere to it.
- Maintain accurate financial records.
- Inform the club of its financial status.
- File appropriate forms with the International Revenue Service by February 15.
- Deposit club funds.
Bulletin Editor
The club editor is responsible for all printed material of the club. You are the advertiser and communicator of the club. You also make sure that the press is informed of any service that your club performs.

- Produce a monthly newsletter containing the following:
- Important dates
- Upcoming events
- Officer information
- Service Project dates
- Committee Reports
- President's Message
- Major Emphasis Program info
- District Project info
- Reminders
- Post signs and fliers promoting Key Club in your school.
- Contact local press and send articles to community newspapers.
